First off, Geoff had a good golf season which he completed the end of October. He had a few good tournaments, played great courses, and continued to get great experience and build his resume. He is currently beginning the PGA program which will take about a year and half to two years to complete all the classes, tests, and experience to be a head-Pro. The PGA is very complex... way more complex than I ever knew!! I thought professionals just declare one day they are a professional let the PGA know - haha!! Definitely not the way the golf program works. To become a golf professional with the PGA (either tour pro or country club pro) a person needs to take various classes, submit projects, assignments, and take golf ability tests to test the level of the player skills. It is very intense but Geoff is very excited to start the journey!! He has a few wonderful prospects for assistant pro jobs and we are hoping to line one of them up very soon!!
Besides golf, Geoff is also continuing to pursue his MBA. He just finished the quarter this past Tuesday, and I know he is very thankful!! He was taking an accounting course and he hated it!! We are definitely opposites in everything - but that's why we "click" so well :)
So, what's new with me?! Work, work, study, study, work, work....
Officially real, adult life has begun for me! I started my job with Deloitte & Touche the end of September. My first two weeks of work were spent in Chi-town for training. It was a lot of fun meet other new hires around the area and in my office. It was a great networking opportunity and a fun little get-away (though I missed my lonely husband at home)! Since training I spent all my time in Cinci on my main client at the time, Cincinnati Bell. When I interned at D&T I spent all my time a Cincinnati Bell so it was nice to start at a familiar client and not having everything new, just most things!! I am really enjoying work, though, and the team I am working on. It's nice to enjoy working with the people you work with, especially working early mornings and late nights together.
Besides work my life is filled up with hours of studying for this ridiculous CPA exam!! It definitely is a huge task I have embarked on... but I guess I did sign up for this! I actually took my first, of four, exams today. I took the Financial section first because it is the largest and by far the hardest. Trying to get the hardest out of the way first! Scores are not posted for a few weeks so I will have to sit here and stress for awhile... and start studying for the next section the first week of January!!
Life is going great for Geoff and I though. We are truly blessed in every area of our lives. We love the Cincinnati and the area we are living in. We have made fun great friends here and love our new Ward and church family.
